Burravoe Community Co-operative
Brough, Burravoe, Yell, Shetland, ZE2 9AY
Burravoe is a crofting community of approximately 200 in the south end of Yell. The village shop closed in 1999 and following extensive community consultation and research, a community shop and other facilities were planned. Taken forward by the Burravoe Development Group, plans included a community co-op and post office, tearoom and public toilets. The Burravoe Food Co-op was set up as a temporary measure while it continued to put forward the case for a community shop.
